Building materials theory

Introduction

The supply of building materials has multiplied in recent years. To save energy, new constructions and new materials or material combinations are also used. Problems can arise with this. It is Z. B. annoying when a solar collector system has been optimally calculated and works satisfactorily, but corrodes after a few years. In order to avoid such mistakes, a basic chemical knowledge of building materials is necessary. This volume describes the relationships between the structure of substances and their properties. It also gives an overview of the range of building materials, their origin and disposal. In this way, the mutual compatibility of the substances and their resistance to environmental influences can be assessed.
